Prophetic Warning

The signs mentioned in Matthew 24 would precede the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. Only God knows when Christ will come at the end of the world. He will come suddenly and unexpectedly like a thief in the night; therefore we must always be ready for His coming. His coming at the end of the world will be like the days of Noah (vv. 37-39). It gives an overview of the "key players" in end-time prophecy—including the "beast," the false prophet and the King of the North—and the final phase of World War III, as we will see later in this booklet. As we know, Bible prophecy indicates clearly that the beast is the papacy. This historicist understanding was accepted by many Protestant Reformers long before the Seventh-day Adventist Church existed, and, of course, we also accept this teaching based on a careful study of Scripture and history. We are not "anti-Catholic." We care about the salvation of everyone and will find ways of sharing these all-important truths with as many as possible while there is still time.

Yet this will not occur before a fierce, cosmic battle in which the enemy will make his final bid for world domination... It doesn’t mean, and we will see this very clearly as we compare verses 34 and 36. It doesn’t mean that the coming of the Son of man is something that Jesus expected to happen in AD 70 at the fall of Jerusalem. And so throughout this passage, Jesus’ concern is that the disciples not confuse those two issues. The issue of the destruction of Jerusalem, and the issue of the coming of the Son of man.
The word “antichrist” does not apply exclusively to any individual political or religious leader. While we have often heard this passage applied to teaching in general, Peter wrote these words specifically regarding the interpretation of prophecy. I believe that he strongly warned us about speculation here. If we would “hit the mark” in our study of the Book of Revelation, we must first retrace the course of prophecy from the Old Testament to the New. From this process, we will establish several governing principles for our study of the Book of Revelation, principles that should apply to the study of any prophecy. Just how should we approach our study of the Book of Revelation?
In Romans 5 and 6, we see that the doctrine of the grace of God can be twisted to the point that we use it as a pretext for sin. So, too, even a correct interpretation of prophecy can result in an ungodly response on our part. Those who believe in a pre-tribulation rapture could misapply this doctrine by rejoicing because of man’s evil (surely this proves that the Lord’s return is near), rather than by actively resisting it (even though it won’t usher in the kingdom).

To this day, there are an unknown number of organizations within the Latter Day Saint movement, each with their own proposed prophet. In particular, health service provision is likely to feature digital technology with telemedicine becoming more prominent and more reliance on home testing. This may well extend to religious worship where, for the first time in history, religion has come online and real-life worship has been put on hold.
